What Is Lab Created Diamond ?

Mined diamonds, like lab created diamonds, have a crystal structure. Lab produced diamonds have the same crystal lattice structure as mined diamonds. Despite their resemblance, laboratory created diamonds do not damage wildlife or employees.

High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) or Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) is a controlled environment in which lab diamonds grow under tremendous pressure and heat (CVD). Lab produced diamonds grow in the same way that mined diamonds do, thanks to much research and practise.

Moissanite is not the same as a laboratory-grown diamond. Moissanite has increased in popularity in recent years, yet it differs greatly from diamonds in many respects. While mined diamonds are mined from the soil and Lab Created Diamond Rings are developed in a laboratory, moissanite is formed by meteorites. Moissanite is not a diamond and does not pretend to be one. Moissanite is doubly refractive, whereas diamonds, whether lab or earth grown, are singly refractive. This produces a disco ball of light, allowing you to see all of the hues of the rainbow. So, while some people enjoy the fire brightness of moissanite, it does not appear to be a genuine diamond.

Similarly, cubic zirconia (CZ) is not the same as lab made diamond. CZ is formed of zirconium dioxide, whereas lab-created diamonds are made of carbon. This causes CZ to become significantly more permeable, resulting in yellowing over time.

Our lab-created diamonds are formed from pre-existing diamonds’ small carbon diamond seeds. Advanced technology, such as tremendous pressure and heat or a specific deposition process known as CVD, mimics the natural diamond production process. Some lab diamonds created by deposition may also be subjected to pressure and heat treatment after they are formed. When minute amounts of appropriate trace elements are present during the growth phase of the generated diamond, lab grown fancy coloured diamonds are formed, much like in nature. The specific makeup of trace elements in white and fancy coloured lab diamonds may differ from that of real diamonds. Only specialist technology capable of detecting minute changes in trace components and crystal development can identify a lab diamond from a natural diamond.

The sole difference between a lab-created diamond and a real diamond is its origin. A lab-created diamond is “produced” within a laboratory using cutting-edge technology that mimics the natural diamond growth process. As a result, man-made diamonds are chemically, physically, and visually identical to those found beneath the Earth’s surface.

You’re continually bombarded with the phrase “diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” Who can deny that glimmer? You’re in luck, because lab-grown diamonds shine equally as brightly as mined diamonds. What’s the best part? They are a fraction of the cost. It’s time to rephrase it to “diamonds are a man’s best friend,” because he’ll save a lot of money on a lab made diamond. Given that mined diamonds cost between $2,500 and $16,000 per carat, that’s hundreds or thousands of dollars saved.

That’s money you could spend on a fantasy honeymoon, a down payment on a house, or on something more significant, like your wedding. It’s easy to see how a lab grown diamond will stretch your ring budget further than a mined diamond.
